Mirror product is a module in CAA software

Compare symmetry product and mirror product.

1. CATIA Symmetry

• Symmetry type : The user can select how the part or assembly is to be created: Mirror, Rotated or Translated.
• Geometry: The user will need to specify where the geometry is created in. If the part only contains surfaces, then All Geometrical Sets should be selected.

*NOTE: Customize feature: If a specific item is to be mirrored. Select the filter button and then select a part, the Part Body, or Geo. Set to mirror only those features.

• Links: When mirroring, the user can specify if the geometry is to be linked with the original geometry. If deactivated, the mirrored part(s) will be a reference to the original part.

2.CAA Mirror

• Select plane to mirror (XY,YZ,ZX _ plane in parent product of selected product will be mirrored )
• When the Mirror Option dialog displays, make sure to select the Mirror option.

_ Duplicate selection will copy the CAA data and current product.

_Mirror selection will create a mirror product with current product and delete current product.

• Select Apply to create the mirrored CAA features.

This will copy all of the CAA data onto the new part, leaving you with a fully copied, symmetrical part with all of the MTMs, features, points and extracted GD&T that were on the original.
